Auckland Bed&Breakfast is located
at
Half Moon Bay, Howick, Auckland, in the Northern
Central Region of the North Island of New Zealand.
Howick, just a few minutes away by car, has many
restaurants and cafes serving excellent food and
superb New Zealand wines. Howick as one of the
earliest settlements in New Zealand has been one of
the four original settlements around 1847. Several
of the original buildings still exist and many of
the streets are named after the settlers. It is very
convenient to go to Waiheke Island, Great Barrier
Island from Half Moon Bay by Ferry. The ferry link
between Half Moon Bay ,Auckland , Waiheke Island,
Great Barrier Island and Bay of Islands. The 35
minute ferry ride from Half Moon Bay Marina to the
city is a delightful way to see the city harbour and
a quick access to Queen Street Down Town. There is a
bus stop at the top of the road (a two-minute walk).
Stroll down to Half Moon Bay and bike to Bucklands
Beach or Eastern Beach which lie within 1000 metres
from our house. There are over 500 berths in Half
Moon Bay Marina alone! Bucklands Beach Yacht Club
,one of Auckland's most popular sailing clubs and
operational base for the 2000 and 2003 Louis Vuitton
Cup, is just 300 meters away from our home. You could
go swimming, fishing, diving, surfing, golfing,
tramping, biking, etc. or venture further afield. We
have a beautiful and safe swimming beach lined with
Pohutukawa trees. Half Moon Bay is one of the most
desirable suburbs, offering plenty of local shopping
centres and restaurants. Auckland Homestay
accommodation which is within easy reach of
Auckland's tourist attractions has easy access to
State Highway 1 and all the main roads into and out
of the city. Auckland Airport (20 km) and city (14
km). Secured Parking in the yard. 25mins drive to
Downtown, close to shops, bars and restaurants at
Half Moon Bay marina, 10mins drive to Pakuranga
Plaza and Botany Town Centre. 10mins drive to Sylvia
Park. 5mins drive to Free indoor heated swimming
pool at Lloyd Elsmore Park Leisure Centre. |

Staying with Mike and his family was like staying with old friends. It made coming to an unfamiliar city on my own an adventure instead of a scary experience.
My room was perfect and the meals were wonderful, especially the dinner prepared by Landy.
I have recommended Mike's place to several friends and hope to be back again soon!

Flying in from London at 5:30 am is not something one should envy us for. Being welcomed by Mike & his family and being introduced to Aucklanders like Mike is something really special.
Envy no for that! Delicious day, fine cooking (Mike's father *****!), warm welcome and even warmer good-bye!
We will be back: friends do not part without an "lasta la vista!"

My hosts - Mike, Landy and their son Mason are some of the nicest, most generous people I've ever met. They catered to my special diet, left me alone when I wanted to be alone, and were warm and helpful as necessary.
The room, house and location were perfect. The price was right.
I recommend the Auckland homestay very highly.
